Jay-Z notches his 13th number one record this week with Magna Carta... Holy Grail, selling 527,000. Ciara returns with her new self-titled record which moved 58,000 units, and J. Cole remains in the top three selling 39,000 of Born Sinner. More notable sales can be found below. Album sales in the past chart week totaled 4.84 million units, down less than one percent compared to last week, and down 13% compared to the comparable week's sales in 2012. Year-to-date sales are currently at 151.7 million, and that's down 6% compared to the total at this point last year (161.8 million).
I mean, there wasn't much build-up for the used's ep but... That is just disappointing. Anyone know how Fake History debuted? I mean 5000 is decent for letlive. but I pictured TBB might at least hit 8k.
And Jesus, LMTF tripled their debut's first week sales but even 6,000 seems low... Their Warped crowds have been huge; I guess that isnt a good indicator of how well a band can sell CDs.
Strange week, I think.
