Climate Control Releases Debut Album
Preludes Is Out Now!

FOR FANS OF: UNDEROATH, BRING ME THE HORIZON, THE USED, A DAY TO REMEMBER

Having been a constant in the South African rock scene since 2007, Climate Control is ready to break down the walls between the underground and mainstream with the release of their debut full-length album, Preludes.

Produced and engineered by Clinton Watts (Bury Tomorrow, Freedom for Your Life, OneDaySky) at Watts Productions, Preludes is a love affair between melody and aggression, which successfully captures and channels the Johannesburg band’s energetic and intense performance. “I've always placed emphasis on writing songs with hooks, and our band will always have that element of melody, as well as aggression,” says clean vocalist/guitarist Nicolas Gonzalez. “We want to make relevant music – but, at the same time, music which isn't compromised for the purpose of fitting into a specific scene.”

The Shondes’ upcoming album The Garden will be released on independent record label Exotic Fever on September 17, 2013, and has already been dubbed “nothing short of incendiary” by bestselling Bruce Springsteen biographer Peter Ames Carlin. The new album trailer offers fans a taste of the exuberant title track which opens with explosive violins and an intense, sing-along chorus that asks: “Who told you to give up? Who said you’re never good enough? Who told you to give up on the garden?”

Amid live clips of their unstoppable on-stage energy, singer Louisa Solomon explains “The Garden is an album about growing up -- the kind of growing up you do over and over again.” And indeed, the upcoming record seems emblematic of The Shondes fully coming into their own. Described by Producer Tony Maimone (founding member of seminal experimental rock band Pere Ubu) as “a band of scrappers,” the hard-working Brooklyn band has earned their reputation for delivering emotional punch, building an international fanbase over many years on the road.

The Garden may finally be the album that captures the live energy that makes this band so special. With rarely a shred of irony, their rock and Riot Grrrl roots come together in this collection of believable, spirited anthems. Peter Ames Carlin says: "The Garden has the same wild finesse and seething humanity of the Shondes' earlier work -- except now it all sounds better than ever....These power-punk-whip-smart- Brooklynites are the real thing, and then some."

The band is also excited to announce that The Garden’s photography was shot by iconic rock photographer Frank Stefanko, best known for his portraits of Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen (including the beloved covers of albums The River and Darkness on the Edge of Town). Singer Louisa Rachel Solomon says “What an incredible vote of confidence it is to work with a legend like Frank. He has a gift; he sees things the rest of us don't. It’s been a real honor to collaborate with and get to know him.”

Stefanko is among the few who have heard the album, and says the songs are “quite infectious... They take hold and stick with you,” while Peter Ames Carlin says they “rage, soothe and dream,” and that Louisa Rachel Solomon’s singing “traces new extremes in expression and power.”

Absolutepunk.net gave it a 90% review - http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=3232161
From the review: Circus Fires brings a unique combination of indie-creativity and musicianship that I can only really liken to Mancherster Orchestra circa- I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child. However, that comparison mainly grows stronger due to the amount of sheer talent tapped into on the bands' first full-lengths.

Circus Fires succeed in releasing not only one of the strongest debuts I've ever heard, but what should be seen as one of the best albums to appear out of the blue this year. Should they take off, here's to wishing them luck with the success that should follow All Living Things and continuing to release music that easily surpasses some of their peers.

For fans of Saves the Day, Thrice, Anberlin, Jimmy Eat World, and Make Do and Mend.
