In the ARIA Album Charts, the #1 position this week was taken on debut by Arctic Monkeys with their new album AM while London Grammar’s If You Wait came in at #2. Also a big week for Australian bands in the top 10 with Tonight Alive’s sophomore release The Other Side debuting at #5 and Violent Soho’s Hungry Ghost landing at #6. Seminal Melbourne punk outfit Bodyjar will release their seventh album Role Model on October 18 through UNFD. The album is the band’s first new material since 2005 and you can check out the video for first single Fairytales here. The band have also announced a national tour to coincide with the release which you can find details for below.

Harmony have signed to Poison City Records for the release of their second album Carpetbombing, due in early 2014. The band have made a track from the effort entitled Cut Myself Clean available for listening here.

The second batch of acts has been announced for the seventh annual Blood, Sweat & Beers fest, with Jen Buxton, Lincoln Le Fevre, Lucy Wilson and Pinch Hitter comprising the acoustic stage for the day. They join a lineup that includes The Nation Blue, Grim Fandango, Lo!, Safe Hands, Oslow and more. The fest takes place at Sydney’s Hermann’s Bar on October 6.

’s single Riptide has now reached double platinum status in Australia. If you’ve yet to hear the track, check out the official video here.

Hands Like Houses have released a new video for the track Introduced Species which you can check out here. The song comes from the band’s new album Unimagine which saw a release in July through Rise Records.

Brisbane post-rockers We Set Sail will release their long awaited debut full-length Rivals in October. The album was recorded by the band at their practice space/studio Neutral Ground and mastered in the US by Jay Maas (Defeater). Sydney’s Solkyri have been announced as main support for Eleventh He Reaches London’s upcoming October album tour. The post-rock outfit released their debut full-length Are You My Brother? earlier in the year.

This year’s edition of the Harvest Festival is reportedly close to cancellation due to poor ticket sales according to Soundwave Touring head AJ Maddah. Acts due to appear at the festival include Franz Ferdinand, Neutral Milk Hotel, Desaparecidos and Volcano Choir.

Gold Coast’s The Lost Cause are teaming up with Melbourne’s Clowns for a split 7” entitled Party ‘Til Death. The record will be available from October 1 and serves as a precursor to new material from both bands. The Lost Cause are soon to release a tour documentary entitled This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things and Clowns are gearing up for the release of their new full-length I’m Not Right on October 10 through Poison City.

Hellions have released a new video for the track The Penultimate Year which you can watch here. The song comes from the band’s debut album Die Young, which will see a release September 20 through UNFD.

Adelaide noisecore quintet Life Pilot released a video this week for the track By The Book. The song comes from the band’s recent split release with Perth’s Statues entitled Compass which you can listen to in full and purchase here. The band are due to support Kvelertak in Adelaide next week.

love that the gold coast date for joey cape's tour is like two minutes walk from my house. i feel like it will be a bit sad, but no way am i missing out on celebrating tony sly
