 Dear friends,
Its with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that JD has decided to leave Ellison. We will give him an opportunity to explain his reasoning if he so chooses, but do not want to put words in his mouth. We want everyone to be clear that there is no ill will. We have all made some pretty huge sacrifices in our personal lives for this band, as anyone in any band does. We have given up any chance of a "normal" schedule, let relationships with friends & loved ones take a back seat, and screwed ourselves financially time and time again all for the love of what we create on stage & in the studio. The past 2 years have been fairly hard on us. Between the demise of our former record label, Mitch leaving the band, the loss of our friends Casey & Brad, and the red ink on the balance sheet starting to get overwhelming, it becomes harder to move on every day. We released a new EP in order to show the world that we have moved on from all of this, and are ready to do it all again. JD has decided that the sacrifices are just too much for him to go through again, and we all completely respect his decision.
Tonight, instead of sitting in Toledo at a sweet show, We are here writing this note in an empty van. JD is our brother, and I dont know what we are going to do without his skinny ass driving this van around the country. Our biggest appologies to everyone in Toledo for having to cancel tonights show. We are working on a way to proceed with our string of dates next week, so dont worry if you plan on coming to any of those shows. Unfortunately, JD's decision was abrupt, and he will not be with us. We will book a hometown farewell show for JD this summer, so check back for that. I think we all owe it to him to get together & send him off right.
So, once again, Im sorry to anyone in Toledo that expected to see us tonight. I can assure you that Josh, Stefan, and myself all wish we were there more than you know. Hopefuly we will have a handle on how we are going to proceed the next time you hear from us. Tomorrow we will wake up with clear minds, dust ourselves off, pick up where we left off & move on.
Take care,
Ellison | | |
