Seriously? "Sometimes You're the Hammer" and "The Document Speaks for Itself" sound straight off FTWHH.
I know bands like to try new things or play songs outside their traditional genre, and growth as a band is a good thing to aspire to, but personally I think ADTR should just stick to what they do best. It's like Pokemon - yeah, it's not exactly creative anymore and you know what you're gonna get, but it's just more of something great, ven if it is repetitive. I found that the songs that strayed most from their formula on this CD to be the weakest - "End of Me", "Already Gone", and "Best of Me" should have just been left off the record altogether if you ask me. "I Surrender" is decent after repeated listens. The first four tracks are absolutely killer though.
I've listened to the album a few times and I really agree with everything you say. I lied the album a lot at first but then I realized it's because I liked the first 4 songs so much I didn't notice some of the filler in there. But a lot of people are saying how much they like best of me and already gone so I understand the reason for variety to please everyone, I'm personally more partial to the heavy stuff, but especially pop punk which I think is their strong point.
