Really? I enjoy they're heavier songs ("Violence" being the exception) much more.
nah, i don't really think that jeremy's that unique or that good of a screamer, and as a metalcore / hardcore / whatevercore band i think they come off as generic. yes, they'd be generic as a pop-punk, pop whatever band too, but at least then they'd be catchy.

They've never been a pop band tho..
pop, pop-punk, whatever.

There were, what, 7 or 8? Sure, that may be excessive, but do they really hurt an album/song that much? The answer is no, honestly.
