Katy Perry To Debut At #1

Yea, that seems really low for a big pop act. I'm sure it will go platinum by early 2014, but that's not great.

EDIT: Apparently "Teenage Dream" sold 192k upon release, so maybe it's not that bad for her.

Yea, that seems really low for a big pop act. I'm sure it will go platinum by early 2014, but that's not great.

I just think how Prism was promoted like crazy and Yeezus had the guerilla campaign going and Yeezus still outsold it even with how alienating it was. I know Kanye's huge and all, but it's not like Katy Perry's super small haha.

This album is a pretty big let down for me. Maybe it's a grower? I feel like she was trying to be more artistic with her writing but she didn't fully dive in and so the whole album just feels unsure of itself. I like 3-4 of the songs.

KP lives and dies on sales of singles, like most pop acts. Nothing new really. Miley is wildly popular, moreso than anyone right now really. Tons of market for album. Two number one singles. Sold less than this.
