It'd just be his records in reverse order from Newest to Oldest but all tied as classic.

I don't know, i'd like to think that Dark Twisted Fantasy is at least in the top 3.

808s is game changing but is hardly anywhere near a great album, it just doesn't flow as well as his other records. Even Yeezus

This is pretty accurate and kind of reflects how much I've liked Jay-Z through the years.

Coincidentally, I've just been spinning 1996 albums this afternoon (thanks, Kevin Devine, for getting "El Scorcho" stuck in my head). So far it's been Weezer, The Promise Ring, and At the Drive-in.. but I can certainly jump Xzibit and Wilco for Jay-Z to hear Reasonable Doubt.

also it's totally bizarre to post this story while linking to an instagram account that doesn't belong to jay-z then post jay-z's notes from his blog without linking to that post

declaring one's own album as classic is like declaring one's own genre as 'avant garde'. its a less than humble and comical thing to do

I'd love to see Kanye rank his albums. On second thought, wouldn't he just write "classic" next to all of his? I agree with most of this list though. Would put The Blueprint as #1 but you can make a case for the top 3 being #1.
Kanye wouldn't be wrong with (Classic) for any of them except Yeezus, and that's only because it's still too early to tell.

He was saying in that Sway interview that MBDTF is a "top 10" hip hop album ever, I'd assume he thinks that's his best work. Other than that though, I assume he loves all of his albums equally hahahaha.
"1) MBDTF (Classic)
1.1) Yeesus (classic)
1.1) Watch the Throne (classic)
1.1) 808s and Heartbreak (classic)
1.1) Graduation (classic)
1.1) Late Registration (classic)
1.1) The College Dropout (classic)

All praise Yeesus"

Respectable list. Those top three can change order depending on who you are, but that's definitely his top three.

I liked BP3, overhated.

Saw this on r/HHH over the weekend, even they agree it's about as accurate as you can get (it's pretty subjective obviously, but those first three are classics). I definitely don't think this is him saying he can't be as good as before or anything. I mean, his earlier albums ARE better than his latest few for the most part, but that doesn't mean he can't turn back the clack. MCHG was by no means great, but it is lower-to-mid of he pack for me as far as Jay-Z albums go.

Not at all but I'd love to know any minor criticisms he might have.

To be fair they are classics.
