The Wonder Years have announced their first major headlining tour since the release of The Greatest Generation, a six-week run throughout North America in March and April that will feature support from Defeater, Citizen, Real Friends and Modern Baseball. Acoustic VIP Session tickets that feature an exclusive acoustic show (limited to 50 per date) are on sale now and general admission tickets will be on sale this Friday at 10am local time. Tour dates and admat are in the replies and a statement from the band about the lineup they chose for this headliner is below.
We made the decision shortly after the release of The Greatest Generation that we would dedicate the end of 2013 and the majority of 2014 to playing songs from the record anywhere in the world that would have us. We knew we wanted the US run of this hopefully global trip to be special and we were lucky enough to get four of our favorite bands currently playing music to come out with us. We're planning to step our game up in every regard for this tour. The line-up is incredible from top to bottom and we're pulling out the stops to make this an awesome night for everyone attending. We certainly have some surprises up our sleeves and can't wait to get down to it. I'm counting down the days.
I feel a little bad complaining because I got to see TWY in June, BUT it's kinda stupid they're going straight from Moorhead to Calgary without stopping in Winnipeg. It's not like it's going to cost them more money or anything like that, it's literally on the route there. And they drew a big crowd back in June, WAY more people were there for them and a bunch of people didn't even bother watching Silverstein after. So yeah.
