Fun. and Soundsupply Team Up; 10 Albums $15

Posted by - 12:24 PM on 02/07/14
Soundsupply has teamed up with fun. and Groupon to release a new drop.
Fun. has hand-picked 10 albums to be bundled up and sold for just $15, including albums they grew up listening to and bands they’ve toured with while out promoting their Grammy award-winning album, Some Nights. The 10 albums "Drop" will be sold exclusively through Groupon.com for 7 days, starting at 9:00 am EST on Friday, February 7th, 2014.

All of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to The Ally Coalition, a non-profit started by the members of Fun. and fashion designer Rachel Antanoff with the purpose of inspiring people to take action for LGBTQ equality. The Ally Coalition works with partner organizations to support LGBTQ youth all over the country. TAC and FUN. have launched a campaign to raise $250,000 to build a Community Health Center for the Ruth Ellis Center, which provides housing, meals, clothing and medical services for LGBTQ youth in need. The impact the Ruth Ellis Community Health Center will have is significant. Providing a space that is safe and affirming is critical in addressing their needs.

They're all solid records. Eef from Clem Snide and and John from The Long Winters are songwriters on par with The Weakerthans. I'd recommend End Of Love by Clem Snide too.

Colour Revolt have been cited as being a huge influence on Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra. I saw them on tour with Taking Back Sunday a couple of years ago and they were pretty sweet. They're kind of in the same field as Manchester Orchestra with a more eclectic sound that's not too far removed from something mewithoutyou would do. Hope that helps in some way.
