Fantastic review. I really enjoyed reading it, and completely agree with your assessment.

The last time a piece of music floored me like this album did on first listen was when 'On The Impossible Past' dropped.

Am I the only one who gets a kind of Weakerthans vibe from this record? Specifically Housebroken made me think of Virtue.

The review touched on it and a bunch of people have been comparing this album to left and leaving

This is a really special record, too bad it will fly under most peoples radars. It will be this years "The Future is Cancelled".

This album is streaming on P4k and getting raved about everywhere on the internet, it's already on most people's radar.

This album is simultaneously calming and depressing. It helps me feel grounded though, in a weird way.

Apart from nostalgia, what's the point of buying CD's? Vinyl invariably has more aesthetically appealing artwork/liner notes, and you can burn music onto blank CD's for dirt cheap

You have a point with vinyl being a partly nostalgic format, but with vinyl there's actually a difference in sound/listening experience (for better or for worse). Commercial CD's on the other hand contain digital files that are identical to ones you can download and then subsequently burn onto blanks for a fraction of the price. With vinyl you're actually getting something you wouldn't get otherwise.

Sorry if I'm nitpicking, haha.

This record is a classic. This one has the capability of being one of those records ten years from now people will say "I wish they played more stuff off of "Home Like Noplace Is There" when you see these dudes live.
This is a slightly strange way to praise a record

Way to relegate any description of the actual music to a little afterthought paragraph at the end of a ridiculous dissertation on the lyrics. Calling this a review is laughable. It's like a response to a prompt from a high school English teacher asking you to analyze the lyrics of your favorite album. There's a reason I listen to music and not poetry audiobooks. "Reviews" like this belong on p4k where 95% of the music is so shitty/undeveloped/talentless/ruined by terrible vocals that the only positive thing to discuss is the lyricism. It's almost disheartening to see that pitchfork wrote a better review of this, a quintessential punk record, than AP.
Lol this comment

also this is not a punk record
