They were featured in a video game. They are huge. Probably the biggest band in the scene.

Of course no NYC date. Prudential Center would be perfect!

Yeah, I guess. To me they just don't seem like the band that many people would say "I want to go and pay money to see avenged sevenfold" but instead people are like, "avenged sevenfold, cool they were in a video game I played." That's probably way off base too, that's just my impression of them at this point.

Edit: I'm also completely unaware how many hit songs they've had after City of Evil. They could be consistently getting radio play still and I would have no idea

They were supposed to play Prudential Center a couple years ago, but they moved that date to some town near Albany.

People pay money to see shitty mainstream artists all the time. People pack arenas to see Nickelback, Justin Biieber, Drake and whatever other puppet they throw at them as long as they write safe music that will appeal to the masses. Avenged is not that bad but after their City of Evil i wouldn't call them great either. So yeah i'm kinda not surprised anymore lol.

Dude, they are that band. I've seen 'em three times back in the day, each venue bigger than the last

You'd have no idea because they sound nothing like what they did on City Of Evil or prior IMO.

Still amazes me summer of '05 walking up to their tent at Warped Tour and Synyster hands me a CD player to listen to Waking The Fallen; A mere handful of people by the tent too. Good for them to be on the top of the world at this point, but their music isn't for me anymore.

Saw them back when City of Evil came out. They played Cobo in Detroit. They have been pretty huge for some time now. You've been out of the loop for some time now.

A7X is as big of a band now as say, Disturbed or Korn were 10 years ago. They are that huge.
