|Check out the first song from Chris Farren (Fake Problems) and Jeff Rosenstock's (Bomb! The Music Industry) new project, Antarctigo Vespucci, over yonder at NOISEY, where there's also an interview with them. They recorded a seven-song...thing together, it's not really an EP or an LP when it has seven songs right? It's like an IP, because "I" is a letter between "E" and "L" in the alphabet! It's called Soulmate Stuff and it comes out on vinyl in June (preorder) and digitally on April 8.|
Basically the short story is I bought a plane ticket to NYC after making some money on selling "Smith Family" shirts, stayed with Jeff for a week and recorded all of this in his apartment with him. I ran into Benny (Gaslight Anthem) while I was up there, and after I told him about the record he asked if we needed someone to play drums on it, and so he did! Laura Stevenson sang back ups on "Guest List Spots" and Mike Campbell (Laura Stevenson, Latterman) played bass on "Sometimes".
I like to say it sounds like Pinkerton-era Weezer and The Rentals, but really it sounds like Bomb The Music Industry songs with me singing (which is very exciting for me).
We're releasing it April 8th digitally on QuoteUnquoteRecords.com for free (it'll also be available on all the other digital retailers this day) and the 12" vinyl will come out sometime in June, on Really Records.
