Billboard Profiles Rise Records

Posted by - 04:35 PM on 05/05/14
Head to Billboard to read an article on Rise Records' "Unlikely, Exponential Success."
I think illegal downloading actually helped us 10 years ago because fans would spread the word to people who would later support the bands, says Ericson. Weve been aggressive about getting our music out there where it can be heard hassle-free.

That's what I thought too. Online streaming also counts for 25% of their revenue. That's crazy

Hassle free access is probably a huge proponent to their success, and something I hope improves as time goes on.

I may not like that many of their bands (barring the handful that I'm a huge fan of) but I always thought they were extremely business-savvy.

I was surprised to see Drop Dead, Gorgeous mentioned. I'm even more surprised they sold 30,000 copies of In Vogue.
