'Jesus Christ Superstar' Arena Tour Canceled

Posted by - 04:28 AM on 05/31/14
Remember that Jesus Christ Superstar show with Johnny Rotten and Brandon Boyd from Incubus? It's been canceled.
A statement on the show’s website confirmed the news that the production, which was to have started performances June 9 at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, was no longer going forward and that all ticket sales would be refunded.

bummer... seemed like a really cool idea, but pretty sure ticket prices mixed with the fact that it's at an arena while the people that would really want to go to this (theatre go-ers) would want to see this in an actually theatre... not a HUGE arena

I hate when shows get canceled or called off because of low ticket sales.

I feel bad for the lead guy, Ben Foster, because he had to win a reality show to get that part. Hopefully he gets another chance in something else.

Dang, this sounded really cool. I wasn't going to go, so I don't have a right to complain, but what a bummer. My friend was really excited about it being a huge Incubus fan.

No wonder ticket sales were so low, the whole thing sounds like an Onion article.

Theater tour would have been tremendous.

Arena tour was just too much.

I thought I always heard that the Spider-Man broadway was great

Was it just not profitable?

Never saw it, but listened to some of the soundtrack. The songs alone were pretty bad, I couldn't imagine sitting through an entire show of them. Plus who though Spider-Man would work as a musical in the first place?
