Deathcab has always been a band that I really respect and can see the talent there but I don't even know where to start in their discography. Anyone have a good suggestion for where I should start?

I'd start at Transatlanticism for a new fan.

As much hate as Modern Baseball gets on this site, damn I love them. When their lyricism isn't based around finite events soon to be obsolete they are phenomenal.

Never heard of petal before, but after this I am convinced to check them out.

Thank you! I always heard to start with either plans or transatlanticism but I never knew which.

Start with Trans. It's their best album, IMO. A top 25 album from the 2000's.

I'd go with Transatlanticism, Plans, and We Have the Facts, in that order.
