Fans Report In: Brand New

Posted by: Jason Tate (07/31/08)
A member has reported in with some news he found out at Jesse Lacey's (Brand New) show last night. This includes some information on the new album, vinyl, as well as our lyrics.
Fans Report Induring a short question session, someone asked jesse if "devil and god" would be released on vinyl. he said that it would, but they are working to secure the rights to the photograph (it is by an artist, i believe nicholas prior is his name) and that is what is holding up the process. he also said how crazy it was that "yfw" was selling for so much on vinyl and that the band plans to rerelease all three albums on vinyl with new artwork, so with all three albums together it would seem "like a real collection". of course someone asked him about the new album (he did not play the "new song" tonight) and he said he was unsure how the songs would turn out as always, and that the new songs at the moment sound "weird". ha. he said the band is currently "working on recording to see if there will be any recording", but that with the vinyls, recording, kevin devine's new album, etc. there is a lot to be done, and that he has "about 20,000 signed and sealed envelopes with lyrics for everyone who sent in their dollars" that are ready to be sent out.

Man, fuel for the fire, Jesse. Shouldn't have said a goddamn thing about the lyrics.

Vinyl sounds great, but it'd really be awesome if they added the respective b-sides. (Trying to get all of them would be incredibly expensive. I'm only missing two for Deja - both being sold on ebay for over $100.)

I got my dollar sent back. I assume I'm not getting anything, huh? I should bail out before this thread explodes.

YFW on vinyl is insane. The release of all the albums on vinyl in a new edition will only drive up the price of the originals though.

The Devil and God had some of the shittiest artwork ever, it's lame that that is what is holding it up.

They posted the lyrics for free on their website.
They did not post them in the album because they wanted the artwork to look a certain way and it would have been too expensive to add the lyrics and the label wouldn't pay for it.
They are hand written/signed lyric sheets.
It costs money for postage.

I think I got everything that will be said over and over again; enjoy this thread.

oh okay, thats cool that they posted them and that they are hand written. if sending a dollar in was the ony way to get the legite lyrics, then it would've made me think even less of brand new.

...but it doesnt cost $20,000 for postage, hahah

I'm sure the lyric sheets are going to be re-sold for more than a dollar. Besides, I just spent a dollar on a soda today that taste like shit. Could have been better spent, but I'm not heartbroken over a dollar.

I'm waiting for "OMG! Jesse's a egotistical, douche. FTW."
