I'm expecting better results from the album. For two reasons:

1. Look at the cover of the first 5 albums (Kill' Em All - Black Album) Notice the bands logo. Look at the rest of the album covers (Load - St. Anger) It's different. We all know that Metallica's best work was the first 5 albums. Now look at the cover of the new album. It's the same as the first five. Maybe that means something good.

2. I went to Ozzfest on Saturday. Metallica was there and they fuckin rocked! They even played a new song. It sounded like the Metallica we missed. It had a guitar solo!

So, hopefully this new album will be a return to form for them.

This band wasted a two hour slot at Bonnaroo that someone else could have had. Absolutely atrocious. Hell, Kanye was better, and he was two hours late!

Actually this makes a lot of sense. I can tell I'm just going to HATE a fucking album if the logo sucks. Half the time I don't even listen to it. I'm really glad you pointed this out. Logos rock my world and because the new Metallica album has the old logo, I will officially declare it my favorite album of all time. I don't need to hear it.

I like the clips I've heard up to this point, so I'll probably check it out. Also, I'll definitely hit up the Cali date.

While I agree they aren't the most sincere bunch, most bands don't write songs for the fans. A lot of artists write for themselves, and if people happen to like it, so be it.
