Equal Vision Records is proud to announce the latest addition to their roster: Boston, MA's THEREFORE I AM. The five-piece is set to record their debut full length later this year at Strangeways Recording studio in Providence, RI with producer and ex-Hot Rod Circuit drummer Michael Poorman (Piebald, Tsunami Bomb, Paulson) for a Spring 2009 release. Poorman also produced the band's 2007 EP, Escape.

Since THEREFORE I AM's formation in 2004, they've self-released 3 EP's and toured the U.S. many times over with the likes of Vanna, Endwell, The Dear Hunter, and The Receiving End Of Sirens. The band - Alex Correia (Vocals), Brian Marquis (Guitar/Vocals), Travis Alexander (Guitar), James Creighton (Bass), and Chris Fernandes (Drums) - plan to get back on the road once they are finished recording, tentatively in February '09.

About their decision to sign with Equal Vision, Marquis explains, "EVR's past and current roster boasts bands that have fought the same battles that we face today being thrown between many different genres. Growing up with many of those bands and seeing their success, and more importantly their impact, in underground and popular music is what gives us the reassurance that we're working with the right team."

These guys are great, I think. Good for them!

This is such amazing news. I am so happy for this band. EVR is the perfect fit for them. And a full length in the spring? Oh man, these guys just keep getting better and better. This is now on my most anticipated for 09... this Saturday's show will now be even more epic.

A lot of talented Boston bands have gotten recognition the past few years. The Receiving End of Sirens, Damone, Boys Like Girls, Dear Hunter, Vanna. Just off the top of my head. (And A Rocket to the Moon is good, so die.)

But yeah, congrats to the guys. They could end up being the biggest rock band out of Boston since Godsmack. They're so fucking good.
