I found this album to be quite enjoyable as power pop. If the Jonas Brothers are going to be heralded as a the new Cheap Trick, The Academy Is... might as well be the new Beatles.
(I say this with thick sarcasm)
As much as I love TAI, this album was a huge disappointment. I still like it due to the fact that William Beckett has something to do with it, but I was so impressed with "Santi," and hoped they would continue with that sound. Maybe polish it up a little. The only song on this album that sounds remotely close to "Santi" is "Beware! Cougar!"
Hopefully TAI won't continue in this direction for their next release.
