This is the band that got me into punk rock and poppier punk. But they released American Idiot, started wearing guyliner and just...ew. I'm not holding my breath.

Makes sense. Butch Vig and Jerry Finn worked with Joe McGrath (who I believe is a member of Jerry's production team) on AFI. Jerry overlooked Joe's producing Good Mourning by Alkaline Trio too.
