It's weird to read the name Garver in this review, my cousin dated a relative of this dude, maybe I should try and give this band a listen?

I couldn't agree with this more.
I was very skeptical about the album when I first heard it.
It was sooo different from the ep, I actually put it aside and
stopped listening to it. But after listening to it on repeat for
awhile it really grew on me. It's different, but in a good way.

My favorite right now would have to be "follow me home"
I'm proud of what these boys have accomplished.
It's a great CD.

love the review.
especially how this is an autumn album.

i was a bit iffy about it at first,
mostly because i loved the ep so much.
but it didn't take long to grow on me.
i really, really enjoy happy-now.

of the 4,000 in my itunes, i always come back to these guys.
i feel like they can do whatever they feel at the time and it will never sound generic or stale.
I really praise them for that.

but on first listen of the new album I felt a slight disappointment they had changed beyond my liking. It's something I do with a lot of new albums. My sad face changed drastically after the 2nd and 3rd listen through and now I am liking it more than the EP.
The song Brand, New, Friends especially gets me with the chorus so uplifting. When songs can change your mood it reminds me how much I like the band. Overall though, the album does have a more "chill" feeling. (who would think TML liked to chill, hahaa) Wake Up! has a lot of emotion behind it, honest (apologies endless) is quite catchy, and i'm really liking happy-now and follow me home. Virginia has a it's own thing going and Movin' along combines a few songs just the way the sounds did on the EP. I'm really feelin' this(blink reference) album. Top 3 of the year, next to Jack's Mannequin!

ps - bought it at best buy - only copy in the entire store

1) You're a tool
2) This album is pitiful when held up against the EP
3) You said top 3 but forgot to include another one. You only listen Jacks Mannequin and TML.
4) They went the wrong direction

Numbering your points does not make you cool, and neither does insulting someones opinion. Grow up.

The EP was fairly solid for a bands first release. They've already showed alot of maturity in their approach to writing/recording the full length which is impressive for a band who's been together for such a short period of time. (I realize they've all been playing in bands for quite a while though) The EP at times seemed so... bubble gum pop. It was catchy, without a doubt, and had it's strong points. But it just seemed to lack alot... of something.

Once they put up Honest on their myspace I knew I was going to love this album though. This album was just as catchy as the EP yet seemed to have so much more substance, not only in lyrics but also in instrumentation. Maybe i'm off on this, and I haven't really listened to "On A Wire" in quite a while but songs like Virginia and Honest remind me alot of The Get Up Kids "On A Wire" album for some reason. Those two songs are the real stand out tracks for me though. Then, as if there were any doubts, everytime "This Way" comes on I just sit back and think God Damn Garver can sing.

Overall though, I couldn't be more happy in the direction they took with this album.

i found these guys rather annoying live. singer has pretty bad stage presence. but i like this cd.
another thing that irks me is that they don't close with their best song which (IMO) is Honest.
oh well, they have potential.

the cd is way different. but i really like the direction they went with the cd.
i hope more people take notice of them, because they make really great music
and deserve more recognition.
