While I do like what I've heard so far much more than the last album (which, for me, was pretty much a huge letdown), there is something missing in these songs, and I think it's this kind of jumpy, raw energy that characterized their older stuff. I think it mostly shows in Matt's melodies, the way he sings now is really different from before (the change started in Hours), and no matter what the other members will do, I don't think FFAF will ever be what it used to be. But it's not necessary a bad thing, just maybe a little longing for what made the band special in the first place.

And is it me, or do they have really ugly merchandise? It feels like 1999 again, with those huge images simply pasted on shirts.

it's alright. they have never been my favorite but they are pretty good.
