If GnR outsells Kanye, You just never say a bad thing about Chinese Democracy again. Which piece of shit shall win? (Not you, the albums, I don't want to get banned for hurting your ego)

I really don't get why he didn't just abandon this whole project a long long time ago. He had to know it would only disappoint people. Or just release it under a different name, or something.

In the end, I really don't care enough to listen.

Deal. Kanye will easily outsell this. GnR is only being sold in one store and Kanye is one of the biggest selling acts in music.

I'm 1/3 of the way in. I'll give my opinion when I hear it entirely.

god awful album. seriously. why did this even come out? I just want my dr. pepper and to forget this ever existed.

haha. last time I checked, message boards were for OPINIONS. anyways, Axl already convinced me not to listen to this when he made a Guns N' Roses record with HIMSELF BEING THE ONLY REMAINING MEMBER! and Rolling Stone convinced me not to listen to it when they gave it 4 stars.

I actually kinda like it. A lot.

I dig the album. It's bloated as all hell but I guess that's what you get after 14 years. I'm definitely gonna buy the album next week, so I am hoping after repeated listens I will grow to really enjoy it. My favorite track is either "Prostitute" or "If the World".

"If The World" was my favorite too.
"Streets of Dreams" was way up there too.

The quality of the guitar work and production blew me away.

This album has a lot going on, but it's not bad. I'm enjoying this more than Metallica's Death Magnetic; at least this album has solid production value. Albeit, the double tracking/pitch adjusting on Axl's voice can get extremely irritating. The vocal intro for "Street of Dreams" is over the top and awful. I don't think that Axl's voice compliments the cool R&B/hip-hop vibe in "If the World." Also, I'm not a big fan of nu-metal, so those low tuning/dissonant verse parts in the title track and "Shackler's Revenge" do not appeal to me at all. However, the guitar solos are sick, the orchestration in "Madagascar" and "Prostitute" is actually pretty cool, and songs like "Better" and "Riad N' The Bedouins" do well in reaching back to the classic GNR sound that made them famous.

I hope that people on this site will at least give the full CD a chance before bashing it. Not every song is a winner, but it beat my expectations and might even be a pleasant surprise for some others here. Also, I hope a rapper decides to remix "If the World." That hook is nasty good.
