Metal & Hardcore Round-Up So, feedback was positive enough for me to come back for another week, and it looks like this is going to be a regular thing. I'd like to point out that none of this is exclusive nor breaking news; I'm just compiling some of the week's more significant stories in the "heavy" genres of music in a (hopefully) comprehensive manner. If you think something should be changed, then by all means tell me and I'll see what I can do, or if you believe you can improve upon something, then please feel free to do so. Together I'm sure we can come up with something on which everyone can agree and of which we can all be proud. Thanks for reading.

News:

Guitarist John Kempainen has left The Black Dahlia Murder. Vocalist Trevor Strnad issued the following statement:
"On the eve of our December tour with friends Misery Index and Soilent Green, we in The Black Dahlia Murder are faced with a heartbreaking dilemma: John K. has abruptly left the fold and refuses to accompany us on the tour. We are left with no choice but to carry on with the dates as a four piece. The remaining members of the band apologize for these unprofessional circumstances, but we feel that it is best to go through with the tour and not disappoint the other bands as well as the fans who are looking forward to these shows. Please come out and show some Black Dahlia love in our hour of need."

Recommendation of the Week:

So, AP.net loyal, you enjoyed Envy's half of their split with Thursday so much that you want more screamo? Already heard the norms, like Pg.99, Circle Takes the Square, and City of Caterpillar, and love them all? Alright, well I have a suggestion for you. Give the defunct, New Orleans-based band Dear Diary I Seem To Be Dead a try. Although they were only around for a couple of years (2002-2003), they're one of my favorite bands in the screamo realm. You can really hear and feel the raw emotion in the songs. Free MP3s from the band can be found here.

Labels, if you are looking for your bands to be covered in future installments, please contact and/or add alex@horror-101.com to your press mailing list. Users, please use the same address to get in touch with me for whatever reason.

This was fun to do. I'm also considering implementing mini-reviews of some of the week's releases.

BDM's guitar problem is a shame. Sounds like he just bailed with no real reason. I'm interested to hear what he has to say about it.
I'm pumped for some new Heaven and Hell.
Pulling Teeth's video is great.
ADM's Christmas song is fun, of course.

Amen to Dear Diary..., I would also suggest Daïtro and Dispensing of False Halos as a starter.

It's pretty solid. Way better than the last one. Great production, makes them sound heavier than ever.

That really sucks for TBDM. They seem like totally great dudes too. Oh well, at least they still carried on the tour.

I heard a small rumor that It Dies Today and Parkway Drive will be touring this summer.
