I read some quote once that said something along the lines of "The people who love high school are the ones that stay there"
Pretty damn true. If highschool is the peak of your existence you're doing it wrong. In my town it's pretty well known that the people who loved high school, were the prom kings and queens, and were "popular" all stay here. They never get out of the town and they end up married to someone they went to high school with and get fat and the cycle continues. I spent high school having some pretty good times with good friends but planning how to get out because I wasn't going to be stuck there like the kids I hated.
So true! All of the "popular" kids, or the kids who believe they were "popular", go nowhere fast, whether it be academically, socially, or interdependently.
I was one of those kids who got along with everyone well but did not hang out with anyone other than a few close friends--primarily because I/we did not particularly like to party all the time, which, in the town I went to high school in, was the "only thing to do".
