Facing New York - Get Hot (FiveOne Inc.)
Fresh off the heels from debuting his electro-dance side-project Wallpaper to the masses, FNY's lead singer Eric Frederic returns to his main squeeze with a bang. Despite losing two, long-time members (Matt Fazzi to Taking Back Sunday and Rene Carranza to UC Berkeley) Facing New York return with their most brilliant, introspective album to date.
Must-hear tracks: "Cops on Bikes," "Gesture" & "Me n My Friendz."
Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger (Sire/Warner.)
Perhaps one of the most anticipated releases of 2008 by our community here at Absolutepunk, Andrew McMahon doesn't let us down. Determined not to make "the cancer record," McMahon down with absolutepunk in December of 2007, playing what was at the time a "near-complete record." However, it would not be until August that fans would get to hear the final product, and it proved worth the wait. Lush piano arrangements and deep moods that seem to channel more classic Bob Dylan and Ben Folds than even those artists these days, respectively.
Must-hear tracks: "Swim," "Spinnin'," "Caves" & "The Resolution."

just wants to get a base.
Glad to see somebody not disappointed by 'Lucky.' Even though it is no 'Let Go' or 'The Weight Is A Gift," anything Nada Surf does still tramples a lot of music today.

I'm surprised to see Danger Radio on so high on your list. But it's definitely a catchy album.
