Sumerian Records has signed the Washington D.C.-based deathcore band ABACABB . The group posted a new song on Myspace . Their upcoming album, Survivalist , hits January 20th.
Scale the Summit posted a new song entitled "Sargasso Sea" on Myspace .
The Banner vocalist Joey Southside has formed Wolve with producer Will Putney. The band is self-described as more melodic and progressive. An instrumental demo can be heard on Myspace . The Banner, who cut back on touring, will be releasing an EP in mid-2009.
God Forbid posted a new song entitled "The Rain" on Myspace .
Dillinger Escape Plan will begin recording a new full-length with producer Steve Evetts in June. They will also being touring Australia in late-February.
Blackened posted a new song entitled "Kill the Week" on Myspace .
Shortly after announcing their break up, Liferuiner has reformed, now with Donny Arthur on vocals. The group is currently mixing and mastering a new album, due out next spring via Uprising Records. A new demo can be heard on Myspace .
Candiria posted a new song entitled "Icarus Syndrome" on Myspace .
Adam Cody of Glass Casket fame has joined Zero System on vocals. Cody replaces Joel Collins, who left to dedicate more time to his other band, Bloodjinn , who are getting ready to record a new album.
All That Remains have been forced to drop off their tour with In Flames due to vocalist Phil Labonte's throat problems. The band says:
"Sorry, but we aren't gonna be at any more of the shows on the In Flames tour. We'll figure some way out to make it up to you guys. Thanks and we hope you have a happy holidays and a happy new year."

Hate Eternal has dropped off their tour with Job For A Cowboy due to guitarist/singer Erik Rutan's hospitalization. Comments the band:
"Erik was admitted to an Iowa City hospital on the early morning of Nov. 23rd and has remained under doctor's supervision since. The infection has caused concern for the doctors, but the major concern of the doctor's is, Erik's kidney. Erik has had a couple of procedures done on his kidney. Erik will not be able to continue the tour, but he is expected to make a full recovery. He is expected to be released sometime next week and then will seek further treatment at home in Florida. Hate Eternal would like thank to everyone on the tour for their understanding of the situation. Hate Eternal would also like to thank all the fans who have expressed concern for Erik's health."

Imagine, if you will, that the Beastie Boys (circa License to Ill ) decided to start a hardcore band. The result would likely be very similar to Detroit's RZL DZL (pronounced Razzle Dazzle). They're a fun band whose short-but-sweet discography plays like the soundtrack to a hardcore party. Need proof? Just give "Ignorance is Bliss," "Strictly Saucers," or "Dirty Work" a listen.
