but after reading that vinyl sales over the past year have increased by 89% and that this was released on vinyl about two weeks before the scheduled cd release, i can't say that i'm surprised.

i think if the vinyl release coincided with digital and cd releases, the vinyl sales numbers wouldn't matter...
