Having listened to over 1,500 albums last year, does an Atlanta-based tax accountant have the most comprehensive end of the year list out there?

Can you even give an album the time needed to make a list at that rate?

Thrice listed under prog-metal?????

What!!??

EDIT: Nvm, that was on 2007's list, but still.

Plus, he says Crystal Castles put out a bad album, but 3OH!3 and Jefree Star both made his list.

Joke.

"Bon Iver's For Emma sounds like about two dozen other albums released last year, and thus in my mind CAN'T be the album of the year."

With all he listened to, maybe he did find albums that sounded like it?

I don't think that's a huge stretch...at least some of their material could be classified as such.

It's difficult to take the list seriously when he has David Cook under hard rock and has included Jeffree Star. And, to be honest, it's as if he's just included every well known album for each category. For example, the England section features nearly every "indie" band that's been played on the mainstream music channels, and not all of them are good bands *cough*thekooks*cough*.

But this was really well organised, I'll give him that. My OCD was impressed.

A more important question is, after listening to 1500 albums AND working as an accountant, does this guy have a life?

Wait, Jonas Brothers under hard rock, even with his categories that is just really weird to look at.

Also, enjoyed seeing Eskimo Joe on the list of albums from 2007 he didn't hear till 2008.
