Why is there no mention of Alexisonfire or ATDI? Considering that both of those bands heavily shaped DGD's influence on this record, I would have at least liked to see them in the RIYL section.
Also, lower definition? rly?? they're a lot closer to the layered, noisy mess that was Finch circa SHTS than DGD.
still not a bad review, though...
Good review! With time comes progress. I'm really glad to see everyone here is being so supportive of you as well; awesome! One thing I hate about this website is that everyone is a cynical critical prick. But not in this case. Anyways, this EP is amazing just as you described. It is not DGD's best work musically, but it is by far my favorite and deserves a lot more recognition.
Thank you both. I wanted to include bands that sounded similar and appeal to the same general audience ad DGD in the RIYL, which is why I didn't include ATDI or Alexisonfire. (Even though Alexisonfire appeals to a similar audience and has a similar sound, I'm not all that familiar with them and didn't feel comfortable putting them in there.)
I also think it is not their best work musically, however, I still for some reason enjoy it more than the two full-lengths. I think that the s/t is their best musically.
