Just got home from the show, the setlist went:
great expectations
high lonesome
old white lincoln
even cowgirls get the blues
we came to dance
59 sound
patient ferris wheel
left of the dial
miles davis and the cool
film noir
navesink banks
boomboxes and dictionaries
here's lookin at you kid
backseats
ida called you woody, joe
casanova,baby

not a lot of people there since uf was on spring break but fake problems was good and gaslight anthem put on a great show.

is left of the dial a replacements cover, or something else?

What the fucking shit.
Kids don't go to shows and nothing has ever sold out in my city. Apparently a shitload of people that never go outside listen to Gaslight and it sells out and this douchebag didn't get advanced tickets.

I'm raging.

I so hear you. Since when did anything in London sell out?

How many are you looking for? I might have an extra one, but I won't know for a couple of days. Chances are I'm gonna need to sell it. It'd be too bad to not use it when people really want to go to the show.

mtv live is a (really, really bad) daily show on mtv canada. it's an almost-TRL, with a live audience, where a couple of hosts do shtick for half an hour. most of the show is the hosts going over some weird/dumb news stories and pre-recorded comedy bits. they usually have at least one celebrity type on for an interview and a musical guest at the end. they have a couple of bands in every week or so, and they play 3 songs, the first of which is aired on the show. the rest go up online and are used in later episodes of the show. it's taped in a theatre, so basically what happens is when you get a ticket for gaslight's appearance, the mtv people seat you in the audience for the show, and then they clear all the seats away and move everyone to the stage for the performance at the end. it's kind of brutal to sit through the taping, but it's kind of a cool space to see people play.

this has nothing to do with anything, but i went to see springsteen tonight and he has High Lonesome as part of the pre-show playlist. While waiting around inside for the band to start, I heard it played about 3 times. Might've also had Meet Me By The River's Edge, but it was getting pretty loud around me and I couldn't quite tell. Either way, it made me kinda proud :P
Definitely the perfect way to get psyched up for the show.

i think some fall tour dates are already up.

looks like murder by death, the loved ones and frank turner will be supporting some of 'em.

their touring with 2 of my favorite bands makes not being able to see them play with springsteen in hyde park suck far less. if this thing isn't coming to canada, you'll find me in line at the passport office the second dates get announced

HOLY SHIT, CALGARY AGAIN?!?!
When they were here 2 months ago it was one of the best shows i've been to in years. I didn't expect them to be back so soon. Oh my god, I'm stoked.

they're covering a lot of canada, and i fucking love it! if they don't add more southern ontario dates, i'm definitely heading out west and crashing on some friend's floors to catch a couple more shows :D

If one more person brags about their tour date I'm gonna fuck 'em.

they're announcing more dates in the next couple of weeks. if they're bothering to play 2 shows in alberta, canada, they'd be idiots not to play chicago. fingers crossed
