How is it?
This Is All We Could Remember… delivers six solid pop songs filled with obvious Jimmy Eat World influences. Though at times almost derivative—"Hostages" and "Ink Wells Dried," in particular, though the whole album drips with the dark catchiness found on Futures—Reality Stricken never cross the line and become a clone, keeping the music their own throughout. These songs showcase solid songwriting abilities and instrumental prowess; "Read And Sign" features a solid lead line, and "Two Halves Of Perfection" sports an infectious chorus and a bridge that showcases the heaviness and intensity of which this band is capable in the vein of Bayside. My biggest criticism is the songs on the EP adhere to a straightforward pop formula throughout; there is nothing risky or dangerous about this. The album shows great potential, and with a little push, these guys could create a heavy-hitting and memorable album that stands out from the crowd without abandoning their pop roots That said, Reality Stricken have still created a solid album of catchy, fun, and somewhat dark pop songs that will, if nothing else, incite the tapping of toes.
