A new Drake song called "How About Now" has hit the Internet. It is rumored to be on his upcoming album, View From The 6.
Ryan Gardner on 10/21/14 - 01:56 PM
An unfinished Drake song has leaked onto the internet with the title "Views From The 6," which is also the name of his reported upcoming album. It features an unknown rapper by the name of E Batt, and while it was speculated that he was the one behind the leak, he has since come out and said it wasn't him. You can hear the track over at Stereogum, though I wouldn't expect it to be up for long.

In what might be my favorite piece of tour novelties ever, Drake and Lil Wayne have released a Capcom-developed app based on Street Fighter called "DvsLW" to accompany their upcoming "Drake VS. Lil Wayne Tour." The app will apparently allow the crowd at the tour to "power up" the rappers during a rap battle portion of the concert by button mashing. They're also including trading cards featuring the rappers in the tours VIP packages.

Drake's fourth record will be called Views From the 6. No other details about it have surfaced as of now.

Following Drake's "incident" last week the Toronto Raptors distributed 1,200 free OVO/Drake-branded lint rollers during game five of their playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets last night. Life has begun to parody itself and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Welcome to hip-hop in 2014: on the newest DJ Khaled track "They Don't Love You No More," Jay Z raps "Haters wanna ball, let me tighten up my drawstring / Wrong sport boy, you know you soft as a lacrosse team," in a possible Drake diss. This didn't go over well with Major League Lacrosse, who took the opportunity to lambast Hov, claiming that he "wouldn't last one minute on a lacrosse field," and go on to say "he is more than welcome to come to any of our games and try."
Lacrosse is often called the fastest sport on two feet. Players are on the field dodging and shooting balls at over 100 miles per hour.
With that said we don’t think Jay-Z knows what he’s talking about when he calls...

Ok, not really ... but Drake did appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live for a special segment of "I Witness News." He dons a beard and wig before taking to the street to talk to people about, you guessed it, Drake. He accuses himself of peeing in Baby Gap and refusing to acknowledge white sports players at the Espys, which he's hosting later this year. Full video is in the replies.

The fifth annual OVO Fest, taking place in Toronto and put on by the city's own Drake, is the latest festival to announce Outkast as headliners. The recently reunited duo will headline the August 3rd date at Molson Ampitheatre. Special guests are yet to be announced, but when I attended last year Kanye West, TLC, A$AP Rocky, and Lil Wayne (among many many others) performed unannounced. I'm sure the milestone fifth year will be even more jampacked and thrilling. Tickets are on sale February 21st.

Drake has taken to his blog to apologize for his comments regarding Rolling Stone's decision to replace him on cover with the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
After dwelling on it for a few hours or days you will come to the conclusion that you brought it on yourself almost every time. So here I am having that moment. I once again apologize to everybody who took my cover comments the wrong way. I respect Rolling Stone for being willing to give a kid from Toronto a shot at the cover. I guess this is a day to learn and grow.

Drake was due to appear on the cover of the newest issue of Rolling Stone (the magazine teased its interview with him yesterday), but RS ended up using the cover to pay tribute to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Drake isn't happy about that, tweeting that not only were his comments about Yeezus not intended for print, but the following as well:
They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue. .... I'm disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil.

Pardoning my first-ever horrible pun headline - Drake talks in the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone about Macklemore's infamous Instagram of an apology he texted to Kendrick Lamar upon winning the Grammy for Best Rap Album last month. More exactly, he calls the move "wack as fuck."
I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better—make better music... It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won? This is how the world works: He made a brand of music that appealed to more people than me, Hov, Kanye and Kendrick. Whether...

Over the course of the interview, we talked about the year's best records, how the A.V. Club tabulates its year-end lists, whether or not it's currently cool to like Drake or Fall Out Boy, and a plethora of other musical minutia. Read the interview here.

Annie Clark (St. Vincent) recently reviewed Arcade Fire's latest album, Reflektor, for The Talkhouse - the same site that featured the late Lou Reed raving over Yeezus and Ezra Koenig's (Vampire Weekend) goofy take on Nothing Was The Same.
The Arcade Fire have released an album that elucidates our constant psychic vacillation between uber-connection and utter disconnection. They ask you to be aware of your fractured attention span/psyche/in touch with your humanity. Arcade Fire so mercifully avoid the Nuremberg-rock cliches ("Hey!") in favor of sleaze, anxiety, and pathos that you can dance to.

Following the reported dispute earlier this week concerning Drake's upcoming Would You Like A Tour?, it looks like the two artists have settled their differences and Future is back on the bill.
Jake Jenkins on 10/17/13 - 12:45 PM
Would you like a tour? How about some drama before it even starts? Page Six is reporting that Drake has kicked Future off the upcoming Would You Like A Tour? over some off-the-record comments he made about Nothing Was The Same to Billboard. Now that he's allegedly off the tour, Future has decided to do the mature thing and sue Drake for $1.5 million.
