The Gorillaz are set to return.
Damon Albarn promised a return of his animated Gorillaz project last October but has since been silent. Now his co-creator and the band's comic artist Jamie Hewlett has revealed new artwork of the group's beloved fictional members Murdoc and Noodle to his Instagram page, suggesting the band's comeback is near.

Damon Albarn recently set the record straight on a previous article that claimed he said there would be no more Blur or Gorillaz.
From The Interview"No. That comes from an article which was an interesting take on a very long conversation. I dont know how well feel when we play Hyde Park. [As for Gorillaz] When Jamie Hewlett and I have worked out our differences, Im sure well make another record. Weve been through too much together for it to be that big of a mountain to climb. Weve just fallen out like mates do sometimes. Im not the only person to fall out with mates and then make up again everyone does it."

In a recent interview with The Guardian Damon Albarn spoke about how the forthcoming Hyde Park concert should be Blur's last and that the revival of Gorillaz is highly unlikely.
From The Interview"I find it very easy to record with Graham (Coxon)," Albarn said. "He's a daily musician. With the other two, it's harder for them to reconnect It's fine when we play live: it's really magical still. But actually recording new stuff, and swapping musical influences it's quite difficult."
