LCD Soundsystem's documentary Shut Up and Play The Hits will be released October 9th on DVD/Blu-Ray.

An LCD Soundsystem documentary focusing on the final show in Madison Square Garden in April 2011 will be in select theaters on July 18 only. It's titled Shut Up And Play The Hits, and you can see both a trailer for the film and the theaters where it will be in the replies.

James Murphy has finished writing the next LCD Soundsystem album.

In addition to their tour together, Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem will be releasing a limited edition split 7" with LCD covering Joy Division's "No Love Lost" and Arcade Fire covering Serge Gainsbourg's "Poupee de Cire."

The first couple dates of Arcade Fire's next North American tour have been announced. LCD Soundsystem will be the main support for all dates, and the tour will last until early October. Arcade Fire will be making a limited number of tickets available for purchase directly through arcadefire.com prior to the tickets going on sale to the general public. Ticket pre-sales will start on Wednesday, June 20 at 10am Mountain via this site and end Friday, June 22 at 3PM Mountain.

dreamgirls was the #1 record in the US with Billboard scan of 60064 sold this week.

lcd record 1 (the old record) sold a total of 60559 in the US since it was released.

meaning, straight up, if everyone who bought the first record bought s.o.s. the week it's released, then we're totally #1.

i'm sure some people who bought the old record have now moved on to extreme noise or something, but maybe there are enough new people to make up for it!

anyway, it's a dream, and i'll be able to move on to my other life as a mailman after that, because...
