Rob and I will be doing a special two day interview with Lifetime in the near future. Have you ever had some question you've been dying to ask them, while sitting in your bedroom in 2001? What about some old fans that want to bring up old stories from the basement shows? This is your chance. Leave any questions you may have in the replies.

Below is an update from Lifetime. The band's long-awaited, much-anticipated, new, self-titled album hits shelves today!
UpdateSo I just got home after a 13-hour workday and a late-night Paint It Black practice. I'm pretty sick after hanging out with my 2-year-old nephew last weekend (he had bronchitis or something, but it was worth getting sick just to spend time with him, I adore that kid). I feel like hell, but as I sat down to eat some sad excuse for a dinner and check my email, I realized that it's Tuesday, February 6th, and our new fucking record comes out today! We've been waiting so long, and I'm so impatient that I've had to put it out of my head almost entirely for the past...

Guitarist Dan Yemin of Lifetime has posted a Myspace bulletin, which you can read below.
Lifetime BulletinHey everybody. I'm getting really excited and really nervous all at once. We have a new album coming out in two weeks. We wrote the songs in 6 months, as opposed to the two years it took to write "Jersey's Best Dancers". We recorded the album in three weeks, as opposed to the three days it took to record "Hello Bastards". As you can see, some things are different, and some things are the same. I feel like the music, and relationships between the five of us that fuel that music, have remained much the same, but hopefully have matured too. Same old super-fast hardcore pop songs. Same...

A user submitted some insightful words regarding the Lifetime show in D.C. last night:
Lifetime RawksI saw Lifetime live tonight at the 930 club in DC. Of course, lifetime tore things apart and showed no signs of aging. They played about 17 or 18 songs, including just about every song off of "Jersey's Best Dancers," most of "Hello Bastards," and the b-side "Somewhere in the swamps of Jersey." But the real news comes in the new song they played, which they said was the first time they'd ever played it. And anybody that has ANY doubts about this band's new material since signing with Pete Wentz, please think again. The new song was just as tight, just as fast, just as loud, and just as...

Exit Weekly recently conducted an interview with Lifetime bassist Dave Palaitis:
InterviewAs far as New Jersey punk rock history is concerned, Lifetime is the band that everybody loves, the band that everybody wants to sound like and the band that everybody saw, or wishes they had seen back in the good old 1990s.

Now after a nearly 10-year hiatus, the massively influential heroes of hardcore and pop are back together, with a new record in the works and tour plans unfolding. What began last summer as a one-off reunion performance quickly snowballed into a series of sold-out shows and a contract with Decaydance Records, a subsidiary of Florida's Fueled by Ramen. For longtime fans it's...

Dan Yemin of Lifetime and Paint It Black recently sent out the following message regarding Lifetime's decision to sign to Decaydance Records.
MessageHey everyone, this is Dan Y. and I sing and write the songs for Paint It Black. I also play guitar in Lifetime. As you probably know if you're receiving this, Paint It Black is pretty heavily concerned with political subject matter, and for me personally it's always been important to try to keep my actions and my lifestyle consistent with my beliefs and ideals.

A lot of people have been upset by the news that Lifetime has signed to Fueled by Ramen/DecayDance records. From what I can tell, most of the uproar is based on people jumping to...

Lifetime had the following to say regarding their recent signing to Decaydance Records, the Fueled By Ramen imprint run by Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy:
Lifetime MessagePete and Decaydance are giving us an opportunity to the make the record we want to make while still staying in control of our music and our lives. They are behind us as artists and because of that, we're backing them as a label.
Rohan Kohli on 03/28/06 - 05:29 PM
Pete from Fall Out Boy posted this in his latest Fueled By Ramen Journal entry:

"I am excited to announce that Lifetime has signed to Decaydance (Fueled By Ramen) Records. Mostly, because the world needs another Lifetime record. This is a partnership before it's anything else, and I have an intense respect for this band. How they go about things will be unchanged whether they play 2 shows or 200 shows, or who they record with, or what the new stuff sounds like. I am a super fan and it's exciting to have the chance to hear new songs! More than anything, I hope new kids who are fans of bands from this scene see where all of us got much of our influence from."
Jared Kaufman on 03/28/06 - 08:10 AM
