A label representative has confirmed that Modest Mouse is slated to release a new album via Epic Records in the first quarter of 2015. This marks the band's first full-length in almost eight years, since 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Furthermore, following a teaser Instagram post earlier this week, new single "Lampshades on Fire" will make its radio debut on Monday, Dec. 15.
Newbury Comics will be releasing an exclusive vinyl version of the classic, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, by Modest Mouse. This will be a 2xLP set on green 120 gram vinyl, foil-stamp numbered and limited to only 1,000 pieces. It'll be released April 15th and available for pre-order now.

Tonight's REM / Modest Mouse / The National show located at the Nikon @ Jones Beach Amphitheater was evacuated after lightning hit the facility, "causing sparks to fly from the building". One person sustained injuries, though the venue would not say whether the two incidents were related.
