Today we are excitedly teaming up with our friends in The Wonder Years and Stay Ahead of the Weather, along with Hopeless Records, to bring you a brand-new song stream from each band. The songs make up the Punk Is Dead. Get A Job. split, which comes out April 24. Head here to listen to the songs or check the replies, which accompany my Too Long; Do Read article for April -- entitled If You Get A Chance To Win, Take It, the article traces how The Wonder Years have grown steadily from the release of The Upsides to their first "big-boy headliner" on the GK Tour. It also talks about haircuts and tattoos. Leave your thoughts on the article and, of course, the new songs in the replies.
It looks like tomorrow's announcement from The Wonder Years is a preorder for a split 6" record (yes, 6") from them and Stay Ahead of the Weather. On tonight's Gunz Show, Soupy from the band said, "[Stay Ahead of the Weather] recorded a song, we recorded a song, this was last year. We were talking for so long about how bad we wanted to put this split out, but it never found the right timing… it’s finally happening, it goes on sale tomorrow… The songs are obviously killer." It's going to be limited to 1,000 and on a few different colors. We'll post a link to the preorder tomorrow when it goes live.
Stay Ahead of the Weather is somewhat of an indie supergroup, featuring members of The Progress, Into It. Over It., Native, Castevet, and Oceans. Nearly a year in the making, the band is ready to premiere a song. We are proud to stream "Impressions & Impressing People" on their AP.net profile. The band's debut 7", We Better Get Goin' If We're Gonna, will be out December 7th via No Sleep Records.
EDIT: Pre-orders are now up for We Better Get Goin' If We're Gonna.
Stay Ahead of the Weather will release their debut album on No Sleep Records on December 7th. The band features members of Native, Castevet and Into It. Over It. Details in the replies.
