Following our release of the Most Anticipated Albums for 2015, Matty of The 1975 just posted this very simple and intriguing tweet. What could it mean? Just a reference to the band name origin and the backstory we all know by now? Or something more like a release date of a new album to coincide with this? Either way, it's a perfect day to get even more wrapped up in the anticipation for this year's releases.
Kyle Huntington on 01/19/15 - 08:55 AM
Marika Hackman will release her fantastic debut album, We Slept At last, on February 16th via Dirty Hit (The 1975). The album is full of brooding folk and orchestral arrangements, think Laura Marling crossed with Chelsea Wolfe and Nico. Check out the official video for "Drown" in the replies, the new single "Animal Fear" and find out more in the official thread.

Songkick took at look at the hardest working bands of 2014 ... to no one's surprise, The 1975 take top spot. You can check out a PDF will a bunch of the data and stats here.
The Manchester quartet aren’t just the hardest working band of 2014. Their phenomenal efforts over the last 365 days have shot them to the top of the Songkick leaderboard, having played more shows and covered more ground within a calendar year than any other artist since 2010 (when we started crunching numbers). The 249724km travelled by the band, venue to venue, would take them two-thirds of the way to the moon. Which is little surprise, given they averaged a gig every 1.8 days. Unbelievable!

The 1975 have canceled tonight's show in Indianapolis due to an illness in the band. Some fans are talking in the forums that last night at the band's show they looked very tired and Matty even commented about wanting to go home.

Matt Healy of The 1975 talks with The Guardian about how he has survived the last two years on the road.
Gigs in Britain are pretty much the only time I see or talk to my family. Sometimes, I feel guilty when I get a call from someone saying: "I haven't heard from you in a month." I think: "Wow, that's not right." You have to make an effort. That kind of thing keeps you grounded and sane. I feel that my family are more understanding than my friends, though. They get it.

The Gaslight Anthem share with NME that they were influenced by The 1975 on their new album, Get Hurt. We talk about the producer choice in today's special episode of the AP.net Podcast.
The band tracked down producer Mike Crossey in an effort to see if they could tap into something similar to the British group. "We were like, 'well that sounds different – what would happen if a band like us works with a guy who makes records sound like that?'" says Fallon.
