Today, we are streaming the A-side of the upcoming release - a fantastic track titled "Wishing Well." The EP was produced by Jay Maas of Defeater and mastered by Greg Dunn of Moving Mountains. With Have Mercy and Daisyhead joining forces on a new split EP, listeners are granted the opportunity to get in on the ground floor with two bands that have a very bright future. Have Mercy's phenomenal debut, 2013's The Earth Pushed Back, is an addictive, emotive punch to the chest and producer Paul Leavitt supplies the missing X-factor into the songs on this split, while Daisyhead's emo-grunge isn't without flashes of Balance and Composure and Daylight. Both bands are relative newcomers and both should use this release - out tomorrow - as a building block for huge 2014s. Stream the four-song split in the replies, and preorder it over here.

California has produced its fair share of punk bands over the years and The Mighty Fine is looking like it's going to be a part of that group of artists very soon. The band is releasing Brothers and Smugglers on March 4th via Creator-Destructor Records. It was recorded and produced by Kyle Black (Strung Out, Set Your Goals, Comeback Kid) and fans of 90s melodic punk bands like Hot Water Music, Alkaline Trio, and The Lawrence Arms will definitely love this. We're happy to premiere the group's video for "Daphne" which you can view in the replies.

Today, we're premiering one of my favorite 2014 releases thus far - the full-length debut album from Creative Adult. The album's titled Psychic Mess and it's available next Tuesday via Run For Cover Records. The 12-track album is a dark, fuzzy noisemaker infused with psychedelic haze in the vein of Fugazi and the like. Check out Psychic Mess in the replies and pre-order it via Run For Cover.

So you're a fan of skittish, sunny punk rock, huh? In that case, you should probably check out Plymouth, UK trio Woahnows. Below is a first look at the band's video for new single "Watching Accidents", which takes cues from the likes of Japandroids and fellow Brit-punks Gnarwolves. The track is up for free download for a limited time on Bandcamp and the official single is set for release on the 10th of March via Big Scary Monsters. Soak it in.

Chiodos have always had an affinity for the bizarre and what goes bump in the night (after all, the band is named for the trio of brothers who directed the cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space), so it couldn't come as a surprise that the band's new video for "Why The Munsters Matter" is full of old black-and-white horror movie clips. The song is classic Chiodos - as it contains a Bone Palace Ballet feel while maintaining the band's rejuvenated energy and chaos (as seen on last summer's Warped Tour). Today, we are proud to premiere the band's new video along with the reveal of "The Devil Dance Tour 2014." The band's upcoming album, DEVIL, hits retailers on April 1st, but if you...

Idlehands is going to be one of those bands you're going to want to know about right now. The San Diego rock act is starting to make a splash on the national scene and it'll be a damn shame if you catch the group on their upcoming tour with Being As An Ocean, A Lot Like Birds, and My Iron Lung and not know the band's material. Listen to the track "Mellow Christ" in the replies which comes from the split with Ghost Parade. The track features GP's vocalist Justin Bonifacio and the split is available for pre-order.

In case you haven't noticed, Tiny Engines has been killing it thus far in 2014. And you can add another hit to the list as Florida's Direct Effect will be unleashing its brand of abrasive punk rock in the form of its new album, Sunburn, this March 11th. We're offering up a taste of that LP today by premiering "Thoughts of Honey" and if you like loud, noisy punk in the vein of Pissed Jeans, then check this jam out in the replies. It's always great to discover a new band through one of these features. Today when Paul from Quiet Country Audio sent me over Real People, I didn't know what to expect. It's really funny to look back through your inbox and see the progression and growth of an artist. September 2012 was the first time I received an email about Front Porch Step, when he was just a local act. I didn't think much of it then but to see how much he's grown is truly amazing. Now, he's signed to Pure Noise and gaining tons of momentum with his debut record out on iTunes and physical copies hitting stores on Feb. 11th. Today we're premiering the video for "Drown." You can view it in the replies.
Christian Wagner on 01/30/14 - 06:42 AM
Today we're bringing you the second new song from The Weaks' upcoming debut EP, The World Is A Terrible Place and I Hate Myself and Want To Die, which is out on February 11 via our friends at Lame-O Records. The track is called "How To Put An Audience To Sleep In Under Two Minutes" but the joke's on these guys because the song is 10 seconds longer than 2 minutes, and it only took me 30 seconds to fall asleep. But really, it's the most punk-ish track from this release and we think fans of Joyce Manor, Weezer, The Sidekicks, The Ergs and stuff like that will like it. Check out the song in the replies and pre-order the release over yonder.

Throw Texas Is The Reason's Garrett Klahn, Samiam's Sergie Loobkoff, Thrice's Eddie Breckenridge, RX Bandits' Steve Choi, and Peace'd Out's Roger Camero in a room and watch the awesome happen. Pop-punk has been such a hard genre to define over the past few years. It's taken on many sounds, shapes, and forms but one thing is undeniable - when a band does the genre justice, nothing else matters but the music. Today we're extremely excited to premiere the song "Progression Regression" from New England's Traditions. My initial take was the music of Real Friends meets the vocals of Valencia. The track comes from the band's upcoming EP Cycles out on March 11th. Listen to the track in the replies and it is available for pre-order.
Christian Wagner on 01/28/14 - 06:04 AM
Fueled By Ramen paved the way for a lot of artists. One of those was Chicago's August Premier. The band released Fireworks And Alcohol in 2003 and cemented the band's presence in the scene. Over 10 years later and the band is still going strong. Today we're premiering the track "Day Drinks & Daydreams" which can be found in the replies and is from the band's new EP dropping Feb. 18th on Pacific Ridge Records. The album is available for pre-order.

On February 25th, The Hotelier will release Home, Like No Place Is There, one of our most anticipated albums of 2014, via Tiny Engines. Today, we are excited to premiere a new song from the record, the raucous and relentless "Life In Drag." It's a little different from the songs previously released from the album, but I think it'll get your blood pumping on this cold January morning. The album is available to pre-order and you can check out the band's upcoming dates in the replies along with the new song.

Nothing's better than finding a new song you love. When I heard Belle Noire's "Sleep" the first time, it hit me like a ton of bricks - something along the lines of a catchier Moving Mountains or Circa Survive with hints of Kaddisfly. Check out the song in the replies, and follow the band's Facebook and Bandcamp for more info on their upcoming album, to be produced by Dryw Owens (From Indian Lakes, Culprit).
Jack Appleby on 01/22/14 - 09:30 AM
Adding noodly math rock and strange time signatures to pop-punk has always been Icarus The Owl's mission objective - it's a bizarre marriage that the band's made work for some time. For their self-titled album, the boys teamed with produce Kris Crummett (A Lot Like Birds, Night Verses, Issues) to amp up their catchy, off-kilter fun. Hit the replies for the new song "Black Fish" - Icarus The Owl is due February 7, and can be pre-ordered on their BandCamp.
Jack Appleby on 01/21/14 - 08:35 AM
The musicians of Tides Of Man have always been championed. The band's brand of post-hardcore featured a unique vocalist, but was anchored in strong instrumentals far surpassing their peers. That musical backbone is thrust into the forefront with Young & Courageous, the band's first instrumental release. It'd be silly to bemoan what once was when this new direction works so well - it's certainly a steep transition with some learning curve, but a sound Tides pulls off. Today we have "Hold Still", a booming track filled with dynamics and builds - hear it for yourself in the replies, and pre-order Young & Courageous before its February 4 release.
