Looks like Acceptance have an albums worth of demos right now. Let us all rejoice.

Still crazy to see Acceptance in the studio recording.

The Stranger have posted an article on Acceptance addressing the long discussed rumors that their drummer was kicked out for being gay (and also revealing that the band is thinking of releasing a new album).
Acceptance released their first new song, "Take You Away," in Mayóa track that wouldn't sound out of place on Phantoms. "We want to find a new home for the band and hopefully try to put out a record at some point, keep the band alive," McAlhaney said. "I don't think I could ever see us going on tour in the normal sense of the word. But it's fun to do this weekend stuff and work on Acceptance songs here and there."

Ten years ago today was a pretty special day. Arguably two of my favorite records that came from this "scene" of ours were released. Acceptance's Phantoms and The Receiving End of Sirens' Between The Heart and The Synapse were both released on April 26th, 2005. If you're having a lazy Sunday like me, throw on these records on and take a trip down memory lane. Jump to the replies to talk about both of these classic albums and share your memories with everyone.

Want to win a pair of tickets to see Acceptance at their Gramercy Theatre show in New York or the Showbox in Seattle? Of course you do. If you can go do the show ... tell us why you're the biggest Acceptance fan and should get the tickets in the replies to this post. I'll pick a winner this Friday.
Jason Tate on 04/21/15 - 01:22 PM
I can't think of many bands that have had the kind of legacy Acceptance have had on this website. We knew they were special when they first launched and their full-length album has reached "cult classic" status for many of us over the years. They've been the band I've most often wondered "what-if" while spinning Phantoms for the thousandth time. After the band announced their upcoming Skate and Surf appearance, and two shows, many have been wondering what is next for the band. Today, we've got some answers. Check out my Q&A with the band to find out what brought the guys back together, that their future is now, and what we can expect now that the band's been writing again.

Acceptance have announced their first headlining shows in 9 years (Seattle and NYC), tickets on sale Friday and more shows will be announced. More news coming soon.
Jason Tate on 04/07/15 - 10:24 AM
Acceptance hung out together "for the first time in about a decade" over the weekend and snapped some new promo photos. Look for more news to be coming in the next few weeks.
Jason Tate on 02/23/15 - 11:48 AM
Hey ... did you hear Acceptance is playing Skate and Surf? I'm going to be talking with the band in the near future and I've obviously got a bunch of questions I want to ask; however, I started thinking: is there a bigger collection of Acceptance fans online than here on the website? It's always seemed like we've been ground zero for Acceptance fandom. So, with that, I think it makes the most sense that I ask questions you guys want to know. Hit up the replies and let me know -- I'll end up asking the ones I see the most often.

Acceptance is reuniting for Skate & Surf 2015. The Gaslight Anthem, mewithoutYou, Kevin Devine, American Nightmare and more have also been added. The new admat is in the replies.

In celebration of this week's release of Anberlin's final album, Lowborn, we have been posting an in-depth, three-part interview special looking back over the band's 12-year career. The final installment with guitarist Christian McAlhaney is now available here, while part II with vocalist Stephen Christian is here and part I with drummer Nate Young is here.
From the moment they asked me to be in the band, itís been pretty epic, honestly. I feel very blessed and very grateful to have been able to have done this in two different bands now. Most musicians and kids growing up who had dreams and aspirations of being in a touring band, Iíd say for 99% of them it doesnít work out. It...

Christian McAlhaney, of Anberlin, talks with The Garden Statement about how he has been "trying to arrange" Acceptance reunion shows for a Phantoms anniversary.
Iíve always been open to it, and I think the rest of the guys in the band are open to doingÖ I donít think the band would ever get back together, but I definitely feel like some reunion shows would be appropriate for sure. Iíve been trying to organize it for years.

He also talks about Lowborn's album cover "controversy" -- which I guess I missed.
Yeah, weíve had a guy that has done a lot of our layouts and graphic design. We kind of had an idea of his vision, and he sent us a lot of different versions of a photograph. Iím...

Bad Timing Records have announced second press details on Acceptance's Phantoms.
The records will be getting to us within the next 2-3 weeks. Like the first pressing, we'll put it up for sale once we have the records in hand, so probably around the third week of September. Here's the pressing info:
White w/ Blue Splatter Ė 500 units Ė available in the Bad Timing Records webstore
Solid White Ė 500 units Ė available exclusively via Hot Topic
So there it is. See you in a couple weeks.

Seattle Weekly has written an article on Acceptance's vinyl pressing and Bad Timing Records. You can read it here. There is one paragraph that stuck out to me, you can interpret it for yourself.
Following the vinylís success, the band is receptive to the idea of a reunion of sorts, though no one seems to want to pull the trigger. The logistics alone are daunting, with members spread across the country, many with families of their own and those full-time jobs.
Christian Wagner on 07/31/13 - 11:04 AM
Just a reminder, since so many of us are ecstatic about it - the vinyl pressing of Acceptance's Phantoms is available for purchase today at 2 pm EST (11am PST) via Bad Timing Records.

Update: There were some hiccups, but all is well - head over to their site to purchase.

Update #2: Four hours later ... the first pressing has sold out completely. - JT

Starting tomorrow, July 16th, at 2 PM EST -- Acceptance's cult-favorite Phantoms will be available for purchase on vinyl. The album will be released via Bad Timing Records and I'd recommend following them on Twitter and Facebook as well, since they've got some other great vinyl releases coming in the near future. An interview about the label and first release can be seen at Modern Vinyl.
Jason Tate on 07/15/13 - 09:59 AM
Soooo... it's looking like Acceptance's Phantoms is coming to vinyl. Take a look at #BTR001 on Twitter & Instagram - several people have posted photos, the hashtag, and lyrics. Seems like we'll find out more on Monday.

Today is the 8th Anniversary of Acceptance's beloved full-length, Phantoms. Go listen to a phenomenal record.

Our interview with Anberlin can be found here.
I can probably say that this will be our last record on Universal. It was great, but major labels are always struggling. Theyíre polishing the brass on the Titanic. We had a good run, for sure, but there was always the risk of getting the major label rigmarole. Itís always about the profit. Itís always about the top dollar and whatís happening now, which is why every label is signing a bunch of bands that sound like Mumford & Sons. We released a super heavy rock record, but whatever. Theyíve been good to us and breathed some good life into our career.

I recently interviewed Christian McAlhaney of Anberlin and he had this to say about the possibility of an Acceptance reunion. Look for the full interview early next week.
Thereís always been whispers of reunion stuff here and there. Basically, I think Jason is the last person everyone is waiting on. I donít even know what that would look like or what we would do, I just want to get the dialogue going because itís been awhile. I think a lot of people would like that, and I would like it too. There was never any closure for the guys in Acceptance. We just said we were done and never played any final shows or anything. There was just never any closure.

I think you could definitely do a...
