Charlotte Gainsbourg, fashion icon and daughter of French demigod Serge Gainsbourg, will be releasing her first album in America in twenty years, on April 24th. 5:55 has already sold over 500,000 copies worldwide. All of the music is done by Air and the lyrics are by Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) and Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy, but the vocals are still by Charlotte. The string instruments were played by David Campbell, father of Beck, the drums by Tony Allen of The Good, The Bad And The Queen and it was produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead).

You can stream Pocket Symphony, the new album from Air, on their myspace page.

Air will be releasing their new album Pocket Symphony on March 6th through Astralwerks. The album was recorded with producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Pavement, Beck) and with guest vocals from members of Pulp and The Divine Comedy. Expect some more experimentation on this one, including the use of classical Asian instruments.

Before a sold-out Bowery Ballroom audience on June 22, San Francisco Regional Champion Craig "Hot Lixx Hulahan" Billmeier became the 4th US Air Guitar National Champion. With near-perfect scores in the compulsory round, he defeated a formidable array of talent from across the country, including US Air Guitar's first Collegiate and Online champions and defending National Champion Fatima "Rockness Monster" Hoang.

In the first "open" round, Hot Lixx began seated, playing Carlos Montoya while wearing an enormous sombrero. But soon his music turned into Metallica and he rose, wowing the crowd with technical accuracy and...

Air is almost done recording their new album and expect to release it in 2007.
