According to a post made by Beau on Saosin's message board, the band is finishing vocals on the last two songs for their upcoming album. The update is below:
Beau's Messageso. chris and i just got back to our apartments. it is like a hundred degrees up here in LA. sooo hot. and in chris' apartment, his air conditioning doesn't work. so we pretty much have no choice but to sit our asses in the pool and listen to our ipods to get inspired and finish these last 2 songs.

so. here are some dumb things that have nothing to do with our band. we saw the tannest man in the world today. chris swore he was black, but i swam over and checked it out. he was in fact, caucasian. how the heck does...

Senses Fail recently posted the following on Myspace.
SF UpdateSo we currently have a week and a half left in the studio. Pretty much all the instrumentation is done and we just have some vocals to finish. It's sounding great so far and we're excited to hear the finished product. After we're done tracking we will then be sending the record off to the awesome Chris Lorde Alge (Green Day, Switchfoot) to mix. Once the record is mixed and mastered we should have a release date hopefully set. But we're shooting for mid September. Also we think Buddy has closed in on the title of the record and I think should be definite soon. We'll keep you posted.

Below, you can read what The Hush Sound's producer, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, had to say about the recording of the band's new record.
Patrick Updates His Producer JournalWow. I was taking a little break today and realized that we're almost done with this record. It's been trying sometimes to be producing records in two cities at once my first time out, but I have to say that as hectic and sleepless as this time has been, I'm gonna miss it. After the meat is all worked out, you get to the really fun parts of a record and that's where we are right now. We're just layering the fun stuff. Background vocals, percussion, organs, mandolins, strings, horns, awesomeness...
