P.O.S and Astronautalis have joined forces to form Four Fists. The duo's first release - a limited-edition 7-inch featuring two new songs, “Please Go” and “MMMMMHMMMMM" - is available for pre-order via Doomtree and will be pressed on blue, red, clear, and white variants. You can stream the new single, "MMMMMHMMMMM," in the replies. The release will be available on October 8th.
According to Astronautalis' facebook page, he has "started a new band this week with my friends Arson Only, S. Carey, and Bon Iver [Justin Vernon]...already finished tracking for the album. so excited about this."
Amazon has put up Astronautalis' "Dimitri Mendeleev" up for free download, and you can grab the full album for $7.99. This album comes highly recommended by quite a few staffers. If you checked out the album stream we had, make sure to pick it up.
Astronautalis' upcoming album, This Is Our Science, opens with one of the best and most powerful tracks of the year, "The River, The Woods." The emotion poured in that song is infectious, as is the rest of the album -- its charm is inescapable. It's for that very reason, and the fact that Andy Bothwell has truly outdone himself with this release (despite Pomegranate being nearly flawless), that we teamed up with Team Clermont to bring you guys an exclusive stream of the entire album on his AP.net profile. If you enjoy hip-hop and other independent artists such as the Doomtree, then this comes highly recommended. And if this genre is not "your thing," then you should give it a listen for...
As you may or may not know, P.O.S. and Astronautalis are working on a collaboration album that should be out later this year. But until that day comes we have to listen to what the lyrical madmen have already given us. Head to the replies to watch the boys throw together "The Story of My Life" and "Hand Made Hand Gun" to tide you over for now.
