Hey gang, Fat Mike from Fat Wreck Chords and NOFX has a beef with me that I don't understand. It started just about a year ago but I thought it died out when he kicked us off the label (in an interview!) for supposedly making fun of him in a song. But now he's back at it. I always thought Fat Mike was a straight shooter and I liked working with Fat Wreck Chords. I certainly never had any problem with Mike... It bothers me that he thinks I made fun of him in a song, since I didn't. He's said a lot about that and other problems he apparently has with me in interviews and on Twitter, but he's never taken...

In a lengthy new blog post, Ben Weasel reveals his side of the story regarding the aftermath of Screeching Weasel's SXSW fiasco earlier this year, including the departure of most of the band members, the cancellation of Weaselfest and the future of the band.

So to reiterate, the band never split up for a second; I merely pink-slipped the dead weight and methodically replaced them with the meanest, leanest lineup of stand-up mofos I could find, every last one of them as disgusted as I am with this ludicrous show of puritanical finger-wagging over the past few months. The boys have been replaced by men. The ex-Weasels didn’t give a damn about what went down on stage at SXSW...

The members of Screeching Weasel gave an official statement to Punknews saying they are resigning from the band. Additionally, Teenage Bottlerocket and more announced they will no longer be playing at Weasel Fest in May.
