On the newest episode of Darren Rose Radio, Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba mentions that he is recording a record for a new side project of punk songs for kids. The band is called The Cereal Killers and will feature Mark Hoppus on bass. One of the songs Skiba mentions is called "I Want To Be A Spider" which is about a little boy who wishes he was a spider so he could scare the girls in his class.

Somehow I got on a mailing list that lets me know when Travis Barker of Blink-182 buys a new car -- this is an odd mailing list to be on, but now I know he's purchased a new 2015 Cadillac Escalade. This information was a surprisingly popular post last time, so here we are again.

Blink-182's Travis Barker recently got his Rolls-Royce Wraith "murdered out." I'm no where near cool enough to know what that phrase means, but there's a photo over here of a car I'd be afraid to breathe on for fear of scratching it. Some more of his collection can be seen here.

Alter The Press talked with Tom Delonge from Angels and Airwaves / Blink-182 and the whole interview is a good read. Look for a nationwide AVA tour later this year.
"It'll be pretty fantastic," DeLonge says. "It won't be gigantic places. If there are any fans who want to see the band play, because it's been a couple years, this would be the place to do it. I suggest they follow the website [AngelsAndAirwaves.com], which we're going to be launching in a matter of weeks."

While travis and i have waited for blink-182 to get back into the studio this past year, i started working on a project with my friend chris, who has worked on grammy award-winning albums, and been my collaborator and confidant for many years. at this point we have nearly 25 songs in various stages of completion. the first project we worked on is a remix of a nova rockafeller song and in the not-too-distance future, will release our album. the band is called "Nothing and Nobody." @nothingxnobody is the official twitter.

The AV Club has a long form article series about punk in the 90's, and today's article is about the year 1997. Bands discussed include a pre-fame Jimmy Eat World, a Glen Danzig-less Misfits and, of course, Blink-182. Good lunch time reading, for sure.
In 1997óas I was reminded the hard way at the Blink-182/Jimmy Eat World show at the Mercuryómuch of the punk scene was still fragmented, confused, and resistant to new things. Not for long, though. And a newfound willingness to evolve was about to hit the punk scene in an earth-shaking way.

Travis Barker recently sat down with Steve Baltin and opened up on a variety of topics.
When I was home, I played on a Rusko song, I played on something for Datsik, I played on a bunch of albums all week long because the end of the day, man, Blink, you gotta have three people that are all willing to record and write music at the same time. If it canít happen, that canít be the end of the world for me. I gotta have other stuff to do or I would fucking claw my eyes out. So being with the Transplants, working on my solo album, until the stars align for Blink to be in the studio I gotta just stay busy. Weíre supposed to go in before Reading or Leeds sometime so hopefully it happens.
