Kele Okereke was on the Zane Lowe BBC Breakfast Show this morning and confirmed that Bloc Party are currently recording their fourth album for release later this year and have a couple of songs completed.

Looks like Bloc Party are back and working on new material.

Kele Okereke has hinted that Bloc Party are ready to return this summer.

There are some plans for new stuff. I'm not sure what I can say... I'd be surprised if there wasn't some new stuff before the end of the summer.

Bloc Party has started work on new material and will "reconvene in September". The band has been on hiatus since 2009.

Young Legionnaire (Gordon Moakes of Bloc Party and Paul Mullen formerly of yourcodenameismilo) will release their debut full-length, Crisis Works, on May 9th via Wichita Recordings. Press release in the replies.

Kele Okereke, the singer of Bloc Party, will be releasing his solo album The Boxer on June 22nd, and you can listen to the first single "Tenderoni" here.
