It's been quite a long weekend. It's been quite an amazing one as well. Fun Fun Fun Fest has finalized its 2012 lineup. The artists to perform include Run DMC, Refused, De La Soul, Fucked Up, Santigold, Explosions in the Sky, Braid, The Promise Ring, Public Image Ltd. and more.

Geoff Rickly of Thursday has been added to Warped Tour's Acoustic Basement from July 8th to August 5th. Braid will also be making an appearance on the stage at this Saturday's stop in Chicago.

Writing about Champaign-Urbana based group Braid is a difficult thing to do since the band single handedly changed the way I looked at music and the sort of music I was interested in. I wrote about the significance of their music in an earlier article for Absolutepunk, which you can read here. Braid was around from roughly 1993-1999 and then reunited for a reunion tour in 2004. The band was notorious for touring heavily and their live shows were always fun, fan-fueled affairs (especially one of their final shows at the Fireside Bowl), as documented by the retrospective DVD Killing A Camera.
