Sting turns 60 on October 2, so on October 1, at New York's Beacon Theatre, a semi-private concert will be held featuring Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and others.

Clarence Clemons, the saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, passed away today at the age of 69.

This is an advance announcement that the third part of The Springsteen Series will unfortunately not be going up tomorrow. Since this was a planned progression of posts, I figured I'd make an announcement. The third installment will go up May 30 instead.

Today we're debuting a new feature called Retro Reviews. In this feature, reviewers will be going back in time to give retrospective reviews of notable albums. Today's post is the first in a four-part installment that I'm calling the Springsteen Series. Dropkick Murphys' music video for "Memorial Day" is in the replies. The song is from their new album, Going Out in Style, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 last week and features Bruce Springsteen on a track.

After sharing his stage with them in their Boston hometown a couple years back, Bruce Springsteen will do guest vocals on the upcoming The Dropkick Murphys album Going Out in Style, trading lead vocals with Ken Casey on "Peg O' My Heart."

Bruce Springsteen played an "epic surprise set" at a charity concert in Asbury Park last night. Rolling Stone has the scoop here.
